Criminal defense: 2 arrested following incident in drive-thru

Most Louisiana residents have been the recipient of an incorrect order at a fast food restaurant's drive-thru window at one time or another. Customers are typically appreciative when the establishment acknowledges the mistake and offers to rectify the error. However, two Shreveport residents are likely now focused on a criminal defense after they allegedly threatened a restaurant's employees with a handgun while at the drive-thru window.

According to police reports, a 26-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were in the drive-thru lane at a local McDonald's. An employee inside the restaurant recognized the man from a previous day and acknowledged that a mistake had been made on his earlier order. The employee stated that the error would be corrected and apologized for it.

Purportedly, the man then began to shout homosexual slurs and took out a handgun. He allegedly pointed the gun at the employees inside the restaurant. Police indicate that the woman got the gun away from the man, yet proceeded to point it at the workers herself. Officers responded to a 911 call from the employees and located the two people in the restaurant parking lot. In addition to the handgun, drugs were allegedly found inside the car.

The man was charged with possession with the intent to distribute schedule I, II and IV narcotics, illegally possessing a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm. The woman faces charges of possession with the intent to distribute narcotics and aggravated assault with a firearm. At last report, the two remained in the Shreveport City Jail.
